Get here soon!!!!! Things to know about 191 River Road from the Seller:
We've lived here for almost seven happy years. We are moving to be closer to family but have loved it here.
The dead-end street has been great for kids learning to use their scooters and ride bikes.
The access to the water at the end of the street is great for fishing, birdwatching, spotting boats and fish with the kids, and fireworks viewing. The last few years it has allowed us to regularly see bald eagles and osprey up close.
The neighbors are universally great folks. Very friendly and communal.
Just one block up Prospect is a hidden gem: Citarella's Meats & Deli. Grandfathered in zoning-wise since it's been there since 1901. Fantastic steaks, chops, and other cuts of meat. Awesome sandwiches too, as well as handy groceries. Takes only a minute or two to walk there. They knows us by first name.
Of course, downtown Red Bank is a short walk away. Numerous coffee shops, dozens of restaurants, 3 breweries/brewpubs, ice cream, bagels, bakery, Two Rivers Theater for shows and the Count Basie for concerts. Fantastic farmer's market May-November. Big name shopping like Tiffany's, Urban Outfitters, and Restoration Hardware, as well as tons of great Mom and Pop shops. The train station can take you right to the Prudential Center for sports and concerts, to NYC, or south to various beaches. Downtown has tons of fantastic options for delivery and take out. The heart of downtown is a 10 minute walk and the far side of town is 20.
It takes us about ten minutes to get to the Sea Bright beaches, and about 13 to get to the Highlands ferry (we commuted to southern Manhattan pre-Covid). Sandy Hook is 15 and has awesome bike paths.
Red Bank keeps these streets especially clear during the winter maybe because of proximity to the hospital. Compared to other places we've lived in NJ, the power rarely goes out during storms and such, and when it does it tends to come back on quickly (probably same reason).
We have a great (and reasonable) landscaper that we've used for years who knows the property well. There is a peach tree by the back fence with small peaches in the early summer. The kids love picking them and eating as a snack.
Great house for entertaining with the large deck and open concept kitchen/wet bar/living room. We've had 32 people here for Thanksgiving and it worked great.
There are two playgrounds within a ten minute walk.
